Located in the Netherlands with its centuries-old organ-building tradition, Johannus was established by Hans Versteegt in 1968 with the mission to make church organs affordable and accessible.  Substantial grow was realized after Gert van de Weerd acquired the company in 1987.  Since 2009 the company has been led by Gert's sons, Marco and René van de Weerd, who continue the passionate pursuit of creating digital organs that capture the traditional sound of pipes. In recent years, the organ company has acquired a more international character, exporting its organs now to over 100 countries.

Church Keyboard has been the authorized representative for Johannus since 2016 and provides support for Johannus organs installed in churches and residences throughout Southern and Central California.
